Hundreds of people rallied in Washington D.C., Monday, against the inaction of Congress to protect recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) facing deportation. The protest marked US President Donald Trump's March 5 deadline, which he had set for Congress to come up with a legislative solution after rescinding the DACA programme in September. Dozens were reportedly arrested... Еще during the demonstration. One group of 'Dreamers' also held a sit-in outside the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters. A number of people also publicly revoked their affiliation with the Democratic Party. One of the protesters said that «the Republicans are always held accountable for not being with immigrants. But it goes in the same way for democrats. Nothing has been done. There [have] been multiple opportunities, and yeah, how could we trust them?» DACA, also known as the Dream Act, allowed a two year stay in the US for certain undocumented immigrants who arrived in the country before the age of 16.
