USA: Defence Department to bolster border security after Trump order

The US Department of Defence is set to boost coordination between the intelligence services and Homeland Security in a bid to tighten the American border with Mexico said its spokesperson Dana White in a briefing given at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA on Thursday. «The president has called on us to expand our existing support to the homeland security mission now,» White said. «The president has... Еще authorised the National Guard with the affected governor's approval to enhance and support to the Customs and Border Patrol.» It comes after US President Donald Trump signed off a proclamation which will see the National Guard deployed at the Mexico's border with the States as he ramps up his rhetoric on immigration and transnational crime syndicates. In his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump also swore to build a wall on the border and force Mexico to fund it.
