Crowds were seen rallying in front of Grand Army Plaza in New York City on Friday, on what would have been the 27th birthday of Breonna Taylor, who had been mistakenly shot eight times during a police raid in her apartment in March.
People were seen holding banners in support of Taylor, with some of the demonstrators holding speeches in front of the crowd.
Taylor was killed in Louisville, Kentucky on March, 13 after police officers entered her apartment serving a «no-knock warrant,» suspecting her to be part of a drug ring. The woman was eventually shot eight times as the officers exchanged gunshots with her boyfriend.
No drugs were found in the apartment. Taylor's mother filed a lawsuit against the police officers for wrongful death.
