Unified lightweight world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko and former WBA lightweight champion Anthony Crolla worked out in Los Angeles on Tuesday, ahead of their bout to compete for the Ukrainian's WBA and WBO titles.
Lomachenko said about his opponent that he is «in a very comfortable position because he [has] nothing to lose.»
The 31-year-old boxer also explained how special fighting at Staples... Еще Center is.
«It's a very historical place, I like it. You know, the night the first time I fought at the Microsoft Arena, and after this fight, I [thought] maybe some day I [would] fight in the Staples Centre,» he said.
Regarding being called up only seven weeks ahead of the fight after the original title contender and International Boxing Federation Lightweight World Champion Richard Commey had to pull out due to injuries, Crolla said that «we had a full camp, just in case Commey did pull out, you know on injuries, and that is exactly what happened».
The fight between the Ukrainian and the English boxer, also known as 'Million Dolla' Crolla, is set to take place on April 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
