USA: Boxer Pulev punished after kissing reporter without consent

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) voted to extend the suspension of Bulgarian heavyweight professional boxer Kubrat Pulev at a hearing held in Los Angeles on Tuesday after he kissed a female reporter without consent. The 38-year-old fighter was initially suspended for kissing Jenny Ravalo on camera on March 23 during a post-fight interview and allegedly grabbing and squeezing her... Еще buttocks afterwards, which he denies. The administrative suspension, which resulted in his boxing license being revoked and thus preventing him from fighting in North America, is set to be further reviewed in the next CSAC hearing in July. The Commission agreed to reinstate the boxer's license on that date with the payment of a $2,500 (€2,231) fine and the condition that he attends a sexual harassment training. In case he failed to do so, he would be suspended for 12 months and fined an extra $2,500 (€ 2,231). In the event of committing a similar offence in the future, he could be banned for his lifetime to compete in California. After the hearing, reporter Jenny Ravalo refused to accept Pulev's apology, «He's not sorry. If he was sorry he would have reached out earlier». For his part, Pulev accepted the commission's decision and recognised «feeling bad about what happened».
