Benjamin Brafman, the lawyer of Hollywood Mogul Harvey Weinstein, was confident of his client acquittal, speaking outside a New York City court on Monday. Brafman said he was in possession, and he has seen what he claimed was «overwhelming» and «corroborative» evidence which will lead to Weinstein being found «not guilty.» He blasted the allegations against Weinstein as «preposterous.» «My... Еще hope is that proof beyond a reasonable doubt should be the only way someone gets convicted. And if we use that standard, I believe Mr. Weinstein will be found not guilty,» said Brafman. Weinstein surrendered to the authorities on June 25, following a probe into allegations of sexual misconduct by the Manhattan District Attorney's office and the NYPD. The movie producer has been charged with rape in the first and third degree, in cases involving two women. The charges came on Friday, seven months after stories started coming out in the press of women alleging his sexual misconduct.
