The online retail giant Amazon opened a shelter for homeless people in its headquarters in downtown Seattle, as seen in Saturday footage.
The shelter has been opened in partnership with a non-profit organisation Mary's Place in one of the company's office buildings. The Amazon offices and the shelter now share half of the building each.
«It’s a twenty-four-hour shelter. So we can stay here... Еще during like all through the day, plus we’re supposed to because of the stay-at-home order,» said Sophia, one of the guests at Mary’s Place.
The 63,000-square-foot (5,853-square-metre) facility is reportedly able to lodge 200 people per night, with around 50 families staying there to date.
