USA: Alabama man completes '1,000-mile-march' in honour of George Floyd in Minneapolis

The man from Alabama finished his 1,000-mile-march (1,600 kilometres) for justice and equality in Minneapolis on Sunday, where George Floyd was killed on May 25. 35-year-old Terry Willis began his walk in memory of George Floyd and in attempt to raise awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement on June 2, covering nearly 1,000 miles 1,600 kilometres) from Montgomery, Alabama, to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Footage shows a large crowd greeting Willis and marching with him on the final stretch of his walk at 38th Street and Chicago Avenue, the site of the George Floyd memorial. George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was killed during an arrest in Minneapolis on Monday, May 25, after officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes despite Floyd saying he couldn't breathe. Since then, protests have sparked throughout the US and worldwide to condemn police brutality and systematic racism.
