USA: Agriculture not included in US trade talks — EU trade chief

The European Union and United States will not include agriculture in trade talks, said EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom in Washington DC on Wednesday. Malmstrom told a group of journalists that the representatives «are willing to include tariffs on all industrial goods, autos included if the Americans should wish so. But we have been very clear that from the EU side, we are not going to... Еще discuss agriculture.» Her comments followed a meeting with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko, ahead of discussions over World Trade Organization (WTO) reform next week. The EU trade commissioner also noted concerns around transparency and Chinese trade practices. «We're not forming a coalition against China. We are worried about many of the Chinese practices because there are no real rules for that in the WTO and that's what we're trying to remedy,» specified Malmstrom.
