USA: Activists demand US visas for gay men fleeing Chechnya

Hundreds of pro-LGBT activists joined a march in New York City on Saturday demanding humanitarian visas to be issued to all those people who have fled Chechnya to avoid persecution based on their sexual orientation. Voices 4 Chechnya marched from Stonewall National Monument to Trump Tower under the motto «They are queer, bring them here, we will never live in fear.» LGBT activist Lusha... Еще Gushcov said: «We are here to make noise and to raise the voice for those who haven't been [able] to speak, for those people who were just forced to leave their home countries, who are [being] purged in this new era of genocide.» Earlier this year it was reported more than 100 people had been detained in Chechnya on suspicion of being homosexual, and that at least three had been killed, according to human rights groups.
