A group of protesters led by activists of the Revolutionary Communist Party USA set fire to US flags during a Fourth of July demonstration in front of the White House in Washington DC on Saturday.
One man could be seen attempting to swat the flags out of the hands of the protesters as they were trying to ignite them, resulting in shouting and scuffles.
Later, a large flag was burned on the ground.
«Fuck Trump, fuck that law, fuck your fucking Independence Day, we need a revolution in order to overthrow this system, bring a whole new communist world into being that can actually ensure the rights of black and brown people,» said one of the activists Jamel Chapel.
«Your hopes for a more progressive or liberal agenda are not going to happen while the second president of the Confederacy is in the White House,» he added.
The demonstrations come following weeks of protests across the United States that were sparked by the killing of African American George Floyd, who died while in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25.
