Uruguay: Mother Russia finds a home from home for WC match

The small town of San Javier, founded by Russians in 1913, organised a street party to celebrate the World Cup game between Russia and Uruguay. The match was seen as an opportunity to celebrate the cultures of both countries. Avenues, houses and the main park were decorated with Russian and Uruguayan flag bunting. At the arts and crafts fair, people could sample traditional Russian food... Еще alongside a classic Uruguayan parilla. Visitors from right across the country so they could experience a little bit of Mother Russia.
