Stephane Dujarric, the Spokesperson for United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, commented on former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir's removal from power while speaking to the press in New York City on Thursday.
«The Secretary General continues to follow the developments in Sudan very closely, and reiterates his call for calm and utmost restraint by all. He recalls his previous... Еще encouragement and expectation that the democratic aspirations of the Sudanese people will be realised through an appropriate and inclusive transition process,» Dujarric said.
«The Secretary General reaffirms that the United Nations stands ready to support the Sudanese people as they chart a new way forward,» he added.
Al-Bashir’s thirty-year rule came to an end on Thursday when Sudan’s military seized power and placed the ousted president under and placed house arrest.
