UN: Palestinian Ambassador calls on UNSC to investigate 'war crimes' of Gaza 'massacre'

Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour denounced the killings of Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip as «war crimes» following what he called an «illegal» US embassy opening in Jerusalem on Monday. He spoke at the UN headquarters in New York City on Monday. Mansour stressed that Gaza «massacre is taking place at the same time when the United States of America... Еще illegally and unilaterally and in a provocative way is opening its embassy. It is very, very tragic that they are celebrating an illegal action while Israel is killing and injuring thousands of Palestinian civilians.» The Palestinian ambassador then urged the UN Security Council (UNSC) to take action, saying, «We are demanding from the Security Council not to deal with us as an exception to the rule and to show there is responsibility and to stop this massacre against our people and to hold those responsible to account.» The Palestinian Health Ministry says at least 55 people were killed by Israeli fire during the protests on the Gaza-Israel border, while just over 2,400 people were injured.
