And the first statements, I believe, indicate that [INAUDIBLE].» Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York City, Wednesday. The Russian minister congratulated Greminger on his recent appointment and said “we look forward to closely cooperating with you.” The meeting comes a day after Lavrov repeated Russia’s suggestion to send UN Peacekeepers to protect the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. Lavrov made the statement during a press conference following his meeting with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Representatives of all 193 UN member states gathered in New York City for the first day of the 72nd UNGA session. The gathering is set to continue until September 25.
