UN: Israeli and Palestinian ambassadors go head-to-head at UNSC vote

Representatives of Israel and Palestine exchanged strong words at a United Nations (UN) Security Council, at a session in New York on Friday. The Palestinian envoy Riyad Mansour accused those voting against a Kuwait-drafted resolution which requested 'international protection' for Palestinian civilians of «extreme mal-intent» that risked «undermining the Council's credibility and authority... It was also the only country to back its own measure condemning Hamas for the recent violence in the Gaza Strip.
