UN: Israel calls UNSC debate 'ineffectual with double standards'

Israeli representative to the United Nations Hadas Meitzad called on the Palestine to «return to the negotiating table instead of supporting the ineffectual open debate,» during a UN Security Council meeting on the escalation in Gaza in New York City on Tuesday. Meitzad criticised some UN delegates for ignoring Israel's opinions and stance. She hoped that «the debate will no longer be guided by... Еще double standard principle, so a real constructive debate could take place.» The Palestinian envoy Riyad Mansour on the other hand referred to Israeli 'Nation-State' law calling it «de-facto apartheid into a situation of aphertheid by law» on the 100 birth anniversary of anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela. Earlier the day, the Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN Danny Danon sent a letter calling on council members to condemn Hamas for perpetrating «violence and terror against Israeli communities.»
