The UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir O. Pedersen said he would like to see steady progress in the work of the the Syrian Constitutional Committee which was launched in Geneva. Pedersen spoke to journalists after briefing the Security Council in New York City on Friday.

The Syrian Constitutional Committee tasked with drafting the constitution met for the first time on October 30 in Geneva. It is made up of 150 Syrian delegates representing the government, the opposition and civil society.
