UN: European envoys urge Turkey to 'cease' Syria operation in joint statement

Germany’s United Nations deputy Ambassador Juergen Schulz called on Turkey to cease its military operation in northern Syria, saying it could provide «fertile ground for the resurgence of Daesh,» in a statement at the UN headquarters in New York City on Thursday. «We call upon Turkey to cease the unilateral military action, as we do not believe it will address Turkey's underlying security...
