Ukraine: «We were able to prevent a Russian Spring in Kiev» - Lutsenko on failed Saakashvili detention

Prosecutor-General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko spoke out during the attempt to detain Former Georgian President and Governor of Odessa Mikheil Saakashvili at the Rada's session in Kiev on Tuesday. «I would like to express my gratitude to representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, General Prosecutor's Office, who were able to prevent the first stage of 'Russian Spring' plan in Kiev... Еще, planned by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation» said Lutsenko. According to Lutsenko, «I am sure that I will come to Rada with the information on more Ukrainian politicians, who are trying, with Moscow's money, to remove post-Maidan authorities and lead to revenge by Yanukovich and his entourage, controlled by FSB.» The van that was supposed to take Saakashvili away was meanwhile intercepted by throngs of his supporters, leading to a one-hour standoff between protesters and security services, that saw Saakashvili released in an unexpected turn of events.
