Ukraine: Saakashvili shows decree claiming Poroshenko's aim to shut down court

Former Georgian President and leader of the Movement of New Forces Mikheil Saakashvili showed the decree allegedly issued by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko calling for the dismissal of the court and judges who back Saakashvili's innocence, during a hearing at the Pecherskyi District court in Kiev on Friday. Saakashvili claimed that the decree was «very coincidentally and comfortably issued... Еще yesterday.» He attended a hearing on an appeal from the prosecutor's office against a decision not to place him under house arrest. The hearing has been postponed until the third of January, reportedly due to the judges lacking sufficient documents. On December 11, Kiev’s Pecherskyi court completely rejected the petition of the prosecutor's office to place Mikheil Saakashvili under 24-hour house arrest.
