The Shevchenkovskiy district court of Kiev postponed until August 6 a preliminary hearing in the murder case of former Russian MP Denis Voronenkov on Friday. Defendants Yaroslav Tarasenko and Alexander Los appeared in court. The decision, announced by judge Vitali Tsiktich, was made as Tarasenko's defence lawyer Vladislav Dobosh failed to attend the preliminary hearing. Dobosh notified the... Еще court that he is on vacation. A representative of the Prosecutor's Office issued a motion to appoint defendent Tarasenko as public defender. The court decided to grant the request and postponed the hearing until August 6 at 12:00 local time (9:00 GMT). Denis Voronenkov, a former member of the Russian Communist Party, was killed in Kiev in March. Voronenkov had been on a Russian federal wanted list since February 2017, over allegations of corruption and masterminding large-scale fraud. He had immigrated to Ukraine in October 2016, having given up his Russian citizenship. Tarasenko and Alexander Los are accused of involvement in a premeditated murder committed as part of a preliminary conspiracy by a group of individuals.
