Ukraine: Military parade celebrates Ukraine's 26th year of independence

Thousands of servicemen marched in a military parade along Kiev's main street Khreschatyk, Thursday, to commemorate the 26th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. Besides the 4,500 Ukrainian servicemen, 230 military personnel from abroad took part including soldiers from the US, Britain Georgia, Canada, Poland, Romania, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Ukrainian parliament on August 24, 1991. The document established Ukraine as an independent state.
