Ukraine: Court upholds ruling on Vyshinsky’s arrest until Nov 4

The Kherson Regional Appeals Court upheld a decision to keep RIA Novosti Ukraine editor-in-chief Kirill Vyshinsky in custody until November 4. Vyshinsky condemned the trial, claiming the “whole shady deal” was fabricated with the intention of exchanging him for Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, who is detained in Russia. “I was arrested less than 24 hours after Oleg Sentsov announced his... Еще hunger strike in Russia,” he said. “Oleg Sentsov was brave enough to finish his hunger strike as soon as he found out what the point was of this whole shady deal,” The RIA journalist is being held on suspicion of treason and criminal proceedings, which carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
