Ukraine: Armed men take control of Lugansk Prosecutor General's Office

Around 200 unidentified armed men took control of several government buildings of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), including the Prosecutor General’s Office, in the centre of Lugansk on Wednesday. The attempt to overthrow the government was reportedly undertaken after Igor Plotnitsky fired the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Kornet. In a video message, Kornet insisted that he still retained his position, and demanded that senior figures in the region's leadership be prosecuted.
