UK: XR activists demand govt. take action against climate change in 10 day demo
Extinction rebellion Activists (XR) urged the government to prepare and act against the climate crisis, on their last day of planned protests, in London, on Thursday.
Protesters marched from Bank to Parliament Square carrying banners reading, «actions not words» and «Government tell the truth.»
Different rallies took place at Parliament square and some protesters reportedly blocked the road with a pink boat during which some activists were arrested.
One activist explained, «I am here just very simply because the government is not acting fast enough, in terms of protecting our futures.»
«We are here today to exercise our democratic right to protest and to hopefully get some policy changes in the government to acknowledge the climate crisis and to stand up,» said another.
