UK: We must prepare for possibility of no deal — May on Brexit

SOT, John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons: «Order, order! [Inaudible] unseemly atmosphere! I want to hear about these important matters! I do, and I think the House should. The Prime Minister.» SOT, Theresa May, British Prime Minister: «Thank you. [The passion] that the former Foreign Secretary demonstrated in promoting a global Britain to the world as we leave the European Union. And I... Еще am also pleased to welcome my honourable friend, the member for Esher and Walton, as the new Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union.» *MULTIPLE SHOTS AT SOURCE* United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May commented on the future of Brexit negotiations, saying that «a responsible government must prepare for a range of potential outcomes including the possibility of no deal» with the European Union, in a statement made to the UK parliament in London, on Monday. She also «paid tribute» to her Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who resigned earlier this day, saying that Johnson demonstrated «passion» in «promoting a global Britain to the world as we leave the European Union.» Boris Johnson's resignation makes him the third minister in 24 hours to resign in reaction to Prime Minister Theresa May's announced Brexit plan. May's Cabinet communicated its exit strategy at Chequers last week. The plan has been branded as 'soft' as it looks for the UK to maintain close ties to Brussels after leaving the union. Many Brexit supporters see this as a break of the promise to remove the country from the EU single market and jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice.
