The Fallowfield campus at the University of Manchester has seen a big increase in its coronavirus cases as nearly 380 students and staff members tested positive in the last ten days, according to the data revealed by the university.
Footage filmed on Monday shows the territory of the university as well as students in and outside the building.
Manchester University's vice-chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, said the increasing number of COVID cases was «worrying» and «a cause for concern.»
The University of Manchester is among the latest campuses to be rocked with the coronavirus outbreak after some 474 students and five staff have tested positive at the University of Sheffield and 770 students at Northumbria University.
The city of Manchester has the highest rate of cases across the UK: in the first week of October, nearly 2,740 cases were recorded.
