US President Donald Trump criticized Labour politicians and praised Conservatives during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday in London, calling Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn and London Mayor Sadiq Khan «negative forces» while saying Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt would «do a great job» as prime minister if they followed May in the role.
«I think he's been a not... Еще very good mayor, from what I understand,» Trump said of Khan. «He's a negative force, not a positive force.»
The president had similar words for Corbyn, saying, «I think that he is, from where I come from, somewhat of a negative force.» He added that he declined a meeting request from Corbyn.
On the other hand, Trump voiced his support for former and current foreign secretaries Boris Johnson and Jeremy hunt, saying they would «do a good job» as prime minister, though he did not seem to know who Michael Gove was.
He also stated, «Everything with a trade deal is on the table,» including the National Health Service (NHS), agreeing with US ambassador to the UK Woody Johnson after being told what the NHS was.
Trump's three-day state visit to the United Kingdom in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day was met with several anti-Trump protests in London.
