Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he made «a reference to the fact there was an unscheduled press conference» before his meeting with US President Donald Trump during a press conference near London on Wednesday.
«We talked about the kinds of things that really matter to Canadians, whether it's how we've been moving forward on NATO, whether the progress being made on NAFTA is going to... Еще continue, which we are confident it will. We talked about the challenges of China. We also talked about a few things. Last night I made a reference to the fact there was an unscheduled press conference before my meeting with President Trump, and I was happy to take part of it, but it was certainly notable,» Trudeau said.
The statement comes after Trump called the Canadian Prime Minister 'two-faced' during a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Trump's comment came hours after a hot-mic video emerged where Trudeau, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron appeared to 'joke' about Trump during a reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen.
Trump then cancelled his scheduled press conference, which was to follow a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of NATO member states.
