UK: Tommy Robinson supporters protest as jail sentence appeal delayed by judges

Dozens of Tommy Robinson supporters gathered outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London, Wednesday, to demand the release from jail of the founder of the far-right English Defence League (EDL). The rally took place while The Court of Appeal was hearing challenges by Robinson (real name: Stephen Yaxley Lennon) against his 13-month jail term for contempt of court. Robinson's lawyers argued... Еще that the sentence was excessive and the man had already served almost two months. However, the judges decided to delay their decision — the verdict is now expected by the end of this month. Robinson was jailed for 13 months for contempt of court on charges related to live streaming defendents outside a court in Leeds in May. Robinson himself pled guilty to the charges.
