Thousands of protesters including COVID-19 sceptics, conspiracy theorists and anti-vaxxers marched through central London on Saturday, against restriction measures related to the COVID pandemic.
Protesters were seen marching from Hyde Park to several landmarks throughout the UK capital — including Trafalgar Square and New Scotland Yard — holding signs attacking Microsoft founder Bill Gates and a so-called «new world order.»
Speakers included Piers Corbyn, brother of former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, who decried vaccinations and told protesters that «we are fighting to stop every implementation of the new world order step by step.»
New rules, banning members from different households from meeting indoors and forcing bars to close, came into force in parts of England and Wales on Friday.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the UK has recorded over 830,000 cases of COVID-19 and over 44,000 related deaths, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
