Scuffles broke out between police forces and a crowd of supporters of the former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson, after the latter was sentenced to nine months in jail in a contempt of court retrial, in London on Thursday.
The crowd chanted «Shame on you», with police trying to push people back. Some of Robinson's supporters threw projectiles on the officers. A smoke bomb was also... Еще let off outside the Central Criminal Court.
In May 2018, Tommy Robinson was sentenced to 13 months in jail after live-streaming footage outside court of defendants in a criminal trial. The court of appeal then overturned the ruling freeing Robinson after only two months in prison.
The case was then referred to the attorney general, who stated that it was in the public interest to bring fresh proceedings. Robinson says the case against him is politically motivated.
