Scuffles between police officers and protesters attending a Black Lives Matter demonstration erupted in central London on Sunday, as participants were denouncing police brutality and taking a stand against racism.
Protesters were filmed facing off with police officers close to Downing street, as some of the participants threw projectiles at police with others calling on attendees not to use violence. People were also seen kneeling in front of the officers.
Protests sparked by George Floyd's death at the hands of police in Minneapolis have been taking place since May, 26 in the US and around the world.
George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was killed during an arrest in Minneapolis on May 25, after officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes despite Floyd saying he couldn't breathe.
