The Scottish independence movement organised an 'emergency' march in Glasgow on Saturday, as the UK prepares to leave the European Union (EU) on January 31.
Tens of thousands are estimated to have joined the All Under One Banner march (AUOB), despite the poor weather conditions.
It is the first of eight marches that AUOB plans to hold across Scotland to keep up pressure for independence... Еще.
Saltires and and symbols of the nationalist movement were on display.
The emergency nature of the march followed last month's general action, when the pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP) won 48 of the 59 seats in Scotland, while the Brexit-supporting Conservatives won a majority in the UK as a whole.
The likelihood of Britain leaving the EU has been cited by the SNP as «a material change in circumstances» which would necessitate a second referendum. Scotland voted by a sizeable majority against leaving the EU in the 2016 referendum.
