Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri praised English football after Chelsea's penalty win over Eintracht Frankfurt at Stamford Bridge on Thursday to set up the second all-English final in European club competition this season.
«The Premier League is the best championship in Europe and as a consequence the world,» Sarri told reporters at a post-match press conference.
Opposing manager Adi Hutter said... Еще he was «disappointed» that Frankfurt's dreams of reaching the final were over.
He insisted that his team should «hold their heads high and be proud» of what they achieved in this year's Europa League.
With the score 1-1 after the first leg, Chelsea took the lead thanks to Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Frankfurt levelled the tie four minutes after half-time when Luka Jovic converted.
In extra time, the Germans had two efforts cleared off the line, while Chelsea had a goal ruled out when the referee judged that Cesar Azpilicueta had fouled Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp.
With the scores level at full-time, the game would be decided by a penalty shootout. Despite Azpilicueta missing first, Arrizabalaga kept out two efforts in succession giving Eden Hazard the chance to score the winner.
Chelsea and Arsenal will now face each other in the final in Baku on May 29.
