Santa came early this year to Tamworth to collect food and toiletries for the needy. The jolly white-bearded man donned a Hawaiian shirt to pick up donations in a bid to help in the coronavirus relief effort on Saturday.
Santa teamed up with Tamworth Round Table and the Tamworth Self Isolation Support Group to arrange collection days in different parts of the town. Residents were seen placing bags of donation in front of their house.
«The reception has been fantastic, people are out there donating. And were doing this for the people in self-isolation. The community spirit has been fantastic and we're loving every minute of this,» said Santa.
«I think it's a fantastic initiative. Especially in the time that was in at the moment helping other people out and he's got a great shirt on so no, brilliant idea,» commented a local resident.
