UK: 'Rajoy out!' — Londoners rally in solidarity with Catalonia

Several hundred people rallied on Whitehall, central London, Tuesday, to show support for the Catalan independence referendum, which was held in Spain two days prior, and denounce police brutality following the vote. The protesters held banners denouncing the Spanish government's reaction to the Catalan independence referendum reading «Rajoy out,» «For the right to decide» and «Help Catalonia... Еще democracy.» The Catalan government announced that, according to preliminary, results 2,262,424 ballots were cast; with 90.09 percent voting in favour of Catalonia's independence from Spain compared to 7.87 percent casting a 'No' vote. The Spanish government has deemed the referendum «illegal» and «unconstitutional» noting that it will not recognise its outcome.
