Much larger than average queues descended on a Starbucks in Luton this Thursday, as a limited number of Starbucks locations countrywide opened their doors for the first time in weeks.
Eager customers had traffic backed up well past the nearest intersection, showing how dear the coffee chain is and how sorely it has been missed.
«They are all very excited to come and get a drink and some food... Еще, and I guess to get back to normality because they've spent weeks and weeks of their life on pause and they haven't been able to do anything that they used to do beforehand,» said Jo, a store manager in Luton.
Customers are not being allowed inside the locations, instead grabbing their orders from protected curbside pick-up booths, and workers preparing food and drink are required to observe social distancing measures.
The coffee giant has reportedly said it is still testing out the best operational procedures post-crisis, and will assess further store openings at a later time.
