UK: Protesters rally against child exploitation and abuse in Hyde Park

Protesters gathered in London's Hyde Park on Saturday as part of a Freedom for the Children UK protest, called to raise awareness of child exploitation and abuse. Some demonstrators held signs espousing conspiracy theories, including one making light of the coronavirus pandemic and another which bore text saying that «paedophilia will bring down» the «Royal Family, CIA, Deep State, Vatican, Hollywood.» «I'm here to protest the fact that Prince Andrew is blatantly refusing to cooperate with the FBI,» a protester said, referring to allegations that the prince was involved in the sexual abuse of minors as part of the scandal involving the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was a close friend of the royal. «The reason why nothing has happened is because the people involved don't want it to be exposed because it's how they gain so much power and it's a very deep rabbit hole,» the protester added. The group Freedom for the Children UK, which organised several protests in various cities nationwide, is an offshoot of an American organisation, Freedom for the Children, which has close links to the far-right QAnon conspiracy theorist movement.
