UK: Protest in London over Uber drivers workers' rights

Protesters marched the streets of London on Wednesday to demand an appeal hearing uphold a court ruling that gives Uber drivers basic employment rights and access to a minimum wage. Yaseen Aslam, one of two drivers who won a tribunal ruling against Uber last year, said: (English)"We get drivers getting assaulted, we get drivers getting abused, so having the workers status today gives us that... Еще protection that we need and that’s what we’re doing today.» The protest was held by the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) union. Around 250 people marched from the Transport for London HQ in south London to the site of the tribunal appeal at Fleetbank House in central London. The appeal launched by Uber hearing comes just days after the U.S. ride-hailing service heard it would lose its London licence due to the firm’s approach to reporting serious criminal offences and background checks on drivers
