UK: Police still investigating link between Amesbury nerve agent and Skripal attack

Wiltshire Police Chief Constable Kier Pritchard held a press conference in Devizes on Monday, where he gave updates on the Amesbury nerve agent incident. Pritchard started off by expressing condolences for the death of Dawn Sturgess, who came in contact with the nerve agent. He also announced that her death was now being treated as «{murder.» Pritchard also said that the investigators are... Еще unable to say if the nerve agent found in the Amesbury incident is related to the attack on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, but added «this of course remains the main line of inquiry.» Investigations are looking into the alleged 'Novichok' poisoning of Dawn Sturgess, who died on Sunday and Charlie Rowley, who remains in critical condition. The couple were taken to Salisbury hospital after being found unconscious and in a critical condition at an address on Muggleton Road in Amesbury last Saturday. Police have since declared it a 'major incident' and cordoned off a number of locations in the Amesbury and Salisbury area. UK counter-terrorism officers have also joined the investigation. Amesbury is a short distance from the UK chemical weapons laboratory Porton Down and the site where Sergei and Yulia Skripal collapsed after being allegedly poisoned by a nerve agent in March.
