UK: 'None of us know what's gonna happen' — Southgate on WC racism concerns

England football squad manager Gareth Southgate held a press conference in Leeds on Wednesday, one day ahead of his team's friendly against Costa Rica. The presser followed a training session at St George's Park, at which the Three Lions showed off their public speaking skills in a series of speed-dating-style interviews. Questioned about concerns that team members would face racism in Russia... Еще during the upcoming 2018 World Cup, particularly after defender Danny Rose advised his family not to travel to Russia for fear of racism, Southgate told journalists: «So very sad that of course none of us know what is gonna happen in Russia but sad that he feels there is a possibility of something that he didn't want his family to experience and might be distracting his focus from football, which I know in his mind is at the forefront.» England will wrap up their World Cup warm-up with a friendly against Costa Rica on Thursday. The Three Lions are set to face Tunisia, Panama and Belgium in Group G when the tournament gets underway in Russia on June 15.
