UK: McDonald's workers go on «McStrike» for first time in British history

McDonald's employees went on strike for the first time in UK history, on Monday, with employees from both Crayford and Cambridge convening outside the Houses of Parliament for a protest. Workers are demanding better working conditions, such as a £10 an hour «living wage» (€11; $13), with protesters also citing ongoing issues such as alleged «bullying and harassment» in stores. The Labour Party... Еще’s Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, John McDonnell, was present at the strike asserting that «these are some of the most vulnerable and exploited workers in our economy», adding that «they’re not asking for the Earth, they’re asking for a decent wage, trade union recognition and an end of zero hours contracts».
