Residents of Balham, South West London expressed their views on the easing of lockdown restrictions, as bakery chain Greggs reopened 800 of its stores across the UK on Thursday.
Despite the rain, there was a steady stream of patrons to the iconic bakery chain, which was offering a reduced selection of goods for purchase as takeaway only.
«There is more sense of normality, you see more people walking down the street,» said Carolina, a local.
Ross, another resident, echoed her sentiments, commenting that «it's nice to have certain shops open and a bit of normality coming back to things.»
On Monday non-essential businesses were allowed to reopen in the UK as coronavirus restrictions were eased, although cinemas, hotels, pubs, and restaurants are set to remain closed until early July.
