UK: Local residents shun grammar school's ban on calling pupils 'girls'

The staff at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls have been instructed to avoid future use of the word 'girls', to avoid mislabeling transgender students. Local residents spoke out against the school's decision from near the institution's grounds in Bowdon, Altrincham on Wednesday. «My opinion is that I think it's ridiculous. I think girls are girls and boys are boys,» said one local resident... Еще. «I think there's far too much attempt to move everything towards gender neutrality and I think it actually leads to more confusion rather than clarification,» said another. A letter was also sent out to parents explaining the decision.
