UK: 'I am seriously depressed about tomorrow' — Scots express mixed feelings about Brexit

Residents of Scotland's capital city Edinburgh shared mix feelings about the imminent departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union on Thursday, on the eve of Brexit officially taking effect. One of the locals, Michael said, «I am seriously depressed about tomorrow and tend to ignore it. That new 50 pens they are putting out, not legal currency to me.» Another resident, Heather, shared... Еще similar feelings, saying, «I don't want it to happen. Like most Scottish I feel like my voice has not been heard, I feel that as a country we have been left out, we haven't got a voice in Westminster so no, I don't want it to happen, I rather stay within the European Union.» On another hand, Noon was more confident about the country's direction. «Our country's best interest first, rather than any other country, like Trump. I like Trump because he puts America first over any other country,» he said. «We might get higher steel prices but he puts the country first so if it means that our country as a whole will be kind of, if it does better for us, if we have kind of a better tax system and a better immigrant system, I can see that working, but at the end of the day it will be like anything else.» The UK is due to leave the European Union at 23:00 GMT on Friday.
