Scores of drivers queued in their vehicles on Thursday as the first Burger King in the UK opened its doors to drive-thru customers. The fast-food restaurant in Havant, Hampshire, resumed its services after all fast food stores were closed during the lockdown to help curb the coronavirus outbreak.
Employees with masks and gloves delivered the food orders at the outlet's service window to customers... Еще in their vehicles.
Customer Lily was excited to place her food order despite being the last in line. «They just let me in because I am a social care worker so, luckily we just got in,» she said. «Whatever is on the menu, apparently, there is a limited availability that's left so, we are lucky to be here,» she said of her order preference.
Gavin acknowledged the massive queues, that some customers had to bear for more than half an hour. «Just can't believe how people are acting but I guess I am here as well,» said the customer.
The fast food company announced the further opening of subsidiary stores across the UK this week, also expecting to reopen a branch in every city by the end of May.
