One resident, Iain explained that «it's not something that you think happens near your hometown» before adding that he was «utterly heartbroken» over the situation.
«I was quite surprised, I wasn't in town but I work in town so I phoned some colleagues to find out what was happening but I was just surprised,» said William, another Glasgow resident.
On Friday, a stabbing attack occurred at the Park Inn Hotel in Glasgow city centre.
The suspect, a Sudanese asylum seeker, injured six people before being shot dead by police.
The officer who tackled the attacker and was ultimately stabbed is said to be in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
