UK: French FM hits back at Chechen leader Kadyrov over knife attack comments

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian reacted to remarks about the recent Paris knife attack made by the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, while meeting with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson to dicuss Brexit and the status of the Iran deal in London on Monday. «We don't have any lessons to learn from a dictator who doesn't respect the beginnings of the rule of law in his... Еще own country and who knows very well that there are thousands of Chechens fighting alongside Daesh,» Le Drian said. Kadyrov reportedly blamed the French upbringing of the alleged knifeman, who is of Chechen origin. Touching on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which US President Donald Trump recently withdrew the States from, Le Drian remarked «our position is one of determination and unity, and a willingness to keep alive this agreement which required 12 years of negotiations, which is an agreement which our states have put their signatures to, and which is an agreement which allows us to avoid a spiral of proliferation.» Le Drian also mentioned that «decision time is coming» with regards to Brexit, and expressed hope that major advances be made in June.
